Dr. Maheson is a distinguished consultant orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip replacement and revision surgery. He has worked with the University Hospitals in Cardiff and now in the private sector with the Spire Cardiff Hospital. He receives patients at his private practice, Cardiff Hip Clinic, located in Cardiff, United Kingdom. The Cardiff Hip Clinic specializes in the complete range of hip problems in adults, which includes hip pain, arthritis, sports injuries, impingement syndromes, young adult problems, hip trauma and painful or failed joint replacements. Dr. Maheson's clinical work covers primary and revision joint replacement surgery, minimally invasive surgery together with hip arthroscopy.

Dr. Maheson studied medicine at Sheffield University Medical School and received his bachelor's degree of medicine and his bachelor's degree of surgery (MBChB) in 1983. He further completed higher training in orthopedics and trauma at the University Hospitals in Cardiff. Dr. Maheson conducted additional specialist training in Dallas, Texas, USA, Toronto Canada, and the ENDO Klinik in Hamburg and Nuremberg Germany, prior to his appointment as Senior Lecturer, then NHS Consultant to the Cardiff University Hospitals. To stay active in his field, he is a member of the British Orthopedic Association, British Hip Society, European Hip Society, and British Association of Computer Guided Surgery.
